Energy loss in converters
Transformer copper loss is the loss caused by coil resistance. When the current through the coil resistance heating, the part of the electrical energy into heat energy and wear and tear on. As a general coil wound by copper wire with insulation made of, so called copper loss. Transformer iron loss in two ways. First, hysteresis loss, when the AC current through the 12 to 5v converter transformer, the transformer silicon steel sheet of the magnetic field lines through the direction and size of change, makes the silicon steel sheet between the internal molecular friction, heat release, which was part of the power loss, this is the hysteresis loss . Another is the eddy current loss, when the transformer work. There are magnetic field lines through the core, and the magnetic field lines in the vertical plane will be induced current, because of this current into a closed loop formed from the circulation and into the whirlpool, it is known as the vortex. The existence of vortex core fever, consumption of energy, this loss is called eddy current loss. Transformer and the transformer efficiency is closely related to the power level, usually greater power, loss and output power than the smaller, the higher the efficiency. Conversely, the smaller the power, the lower the efficiency.
